<p align=justify> Hey. This is urza187. Long time no see. Hehehehe. Anyways. I guess you are all reading this to see what deck I was playing to win the tournament. I decided to play probe-go this week since I was confident on how it does and that there were a lot of decks with many creatures. Here is my decklist: <br><br> 3 Nether Spirit<br> 1 Dromar the Banisher <br><br> 4 Probe<br> 4 Counterspell<br> 4 Wrath of God<br> 4 Dromar`s Charm<br> 4 Fact or Fiction<br> 3 Absorb<br> 3 Gerrard`s Verdict<br> 2 Dismantling Blow<br> 1 Vindicate<br> 1 Death Grasp<br><br> 4 Underground River<br> 3 Coastal Tower<br> 3 Salt Marsh<br> 2 Adarkar Waste<br> 9 Island<br> 5 Plains<br> <strong>Sideboard</strong> <br> 3 Gainsay<br> 3 Cremate<br> 3 Tsabo`s Web<br> 2 Dismantling Blow<br> 2 Duress<br> 1 Gerrard`s Verdict<br> 1 Dromar the Banisher<br><br> Some changes I would do to this deck would be to take out the cremates since no one was playing nether spirits or pyre zombies. I would replace them with 2 more duress and a Dromar the Banisher. <br><br> Round 1 against a guy who was playing mono blue <br><br> Match 1: One blue deck against another deck with blue in it is such fun! He plays first and he plays an island. On my turn I play a coastal tower. Each one of us starts playing land on our turn while none of us were casting anything. During one of his turns, he casts a glacial wall which starts a counter war. He wins the counter war with 3 cards in his hand. On my turn I probe with the kicker which resolves due to him tapping out. He discards a brainstorm and another glacial wall. I discard a nether spirit and an underground river. He looks what the nether spirit does and the look of his face tells me that he is in trouble. He is in trouble as he doesn`t have enough counters to get out one of his glacial walls. <br><br> Match 2: I side in nothing while he sides in about 7 cards. He decides to draw first which I don`t know why he does. But I play an island and he plays an island casting seal of removal. Next turn I play a plains and pass my turn. He lays another island and passes his turn. I draw and am getting land screwed. Which isn`t that bad since I have a nether spirit in my hand, so if I get too many cards I can discard the spirit if I have too. He proceeds to cast accumulated knowledge at the end of my turn. He draws, lays a land and casts a glacial wall. This tells me this will be a long game for some reason. I draw and lay a plains. He goes and casts a waterfront bouncer. This is starting to suck. He has many cards in his hand so he could keep returing my nether spirit. Along with that seal of removal. I draw and cast probe. Which he lets go by. I discard a nether spirit and a dromars charm. He goes and casts a stinging barrier. During the next couple turns. He proceeds to knock me down to 8 due to the stinging barrier. We go to a counter war when he casts phantom warrior. He wins the counter war but he is also tapped out again. During my turn I cast a wrath of god. During his turn he looks at his seal of removal and starts hitting himself on the head. I bring out a nether during my turn and its game from there. <br><br> 1-0 <br><br> Round 2 Me vs. a guy that played mono black <br><br> Match 1: This deck is interesting. While I havent seen his deck. His first plague spitter amuses me. I play nothing and discard a nether spirit. During his next turn he attacks with the spitter. It comes to my upkeep and I return the nether spirit from the graveyard into play and lay an island. During his turn he goes dark ritual tangle wire(:() This doesnt look good. We start taking damage from the spitter and I am down on life 9-14. Mid game, everything he casts I counter. 5-10 his lead on life, I cast gerrards verdict on myself and gain 6 life. He realizes that if I had a hand full of counters he would lose. He asks and I show him. I win. <br><br> Match 2: I side in nothing while he sides in 8 cards. I don`t know which ones though. This game doesn`t go well for me as he double dark rituals a thrasing wumpuss and casts a tangle wire. I lose. <br><br> Match 3: I side in my duress. This game took awhile. He did manage to get a sinistered strengthed phreyxian scuta with kicker out though. And while he had it out, I had a nether spirit. So the game stalls for awhile and I cast a fact or fiction at the end of his turn. It reveals a wrath of god and I take the one wrath and discard the other 4. Wrath of god does seal his fate for awhile untill he gets out another plague spitter. I cast dromar the banisher and he concedes. <br><br> 2-0 <br><br> Round 3: Me. vs. a weird fires deck. <br><br> Match 1: God hand on a fires deck with him destroying my blue mana. <br><br> Match 2: I side in my verdict, my duress. skizzik with kicker sucks. He gets me down to one when I finally cast wrath of god. He has no creatures for the next few turns and I cast a probe with kicker. He discards 2 land and he still has 3 cards in his hand. I verdict and he discards 2 more land. I manage to get dromar on the table and he loses since his kavu chameleon got double dromar`s charmed. <br><br> Match 3: He gets mana flooded and dromar comes into play. <br><br> 3-0 <br><br> Since we only played 4 rounds since there was less than twenty people. I am in automatically. I have a craving for food so I go to subway a couple stores down. Yum. Onto the 4th round. <br><br> Round 4: Me vs. a fires deck with 4 maindeck kavu chameleon <br><br> He asks me if I want to split since both of us would be in the finals. I decline the offer. <br><br> Match 1: He wins since I couldn`t get a wrath of god or a creature due to his kavu chameleons. <br><br> Match 2: Read above. <br><br> 3-1 <br><br> Top 4(not the order they were in) <br><br> 1. Me with probe go<br> 2. My 4th round person with fires<br> 3. My 2nd round opponent with mono black<br> 4. A guy who played black/white.<br><br> I play against my 4th round opponent. <br><br> Match 1. I get a perfect hand with me laying the necessary land and countering everything he has. I get a nether out and he never see`s a kavu chameleon. <br><br> Match 2: During the end of the game. He is about to tap 8 land and shows the obliterate. He then says na and he passes since I had out a nether spirit. I death grasp him to hell. <br><br> 4-1 <br><br> The b/w kid wins and its me and him in the finals. <br><br> Match 1: No match one. We agree to split. I`m tired and hungry and he knows he will lose. <br><br> I did what I came to do. And that was to win. I get 5 packs of apocalypse and pull crap for apocalypse. Mystic Snake and Goblin Trenches were the only good rares. <br><br> Props <br><br> To every one of my opponents<br> Nether spirit<br> Dromar.
