DESCRIPTION
an idea sprung up with the release of innistrad how best can we use the benefits of heartless summoning and the mitigate the drawback. my answer lies in the seemingly innocuous looking card called myr retriever. the combo is simple - with heartless out, play the retriever which dies, then play another and return the first. rinse and repeat for a virtually infinitely large storm count. play your choice of grapeshot or bitter ordeal and there you have it.
the great thing about this deck has a very low curve so low that i am considering cutting 3 or 4 lands at most. also, since all the combo pieces are 2 drops, shred memory acts as 5-8 of each piece.
the drawback of this idea is that witchbane orb and leyline of sanctity ruin our day. suggestions for ways to respond to that kind of threat would be most helpful. bitter ordeal can work around that, but it is slow as molasses. also, ways to work around the opponents removal is also welcome.
the sideboard is in its infancy, but is coming along. ignorant bliss is nice against discard, but is a two drop and does nothing against t1 thoughtsieze. magma jet scries for 2, but again is a two drop. boseiju is nice for that finisher against counter magic, but not important against much else.
happy brewing!
