Mirror Monsters - Cragplate Kicker Combo

Let's get cooking with another extremely cheap Pioneer MatchoBuild! This time, it's a Zendikar Rising-era UG Kicker deck that's all about generating value to overwhelm the opponent until you can land two Cragplate Baloths to swing for victory. You're just looking to assemble a Verazol, Gnarlid Colony on board and 10 mana to kick a Cragplate Baloth, copy it with Verazol and then swing with both of them and use the Gnarlid's granted Trample to end the match. To bridge the gap you're running large amounts of high-value kicker cards to gather mana and resources and a solid toolbox to maintain control of the game until you can really pop off. Properly resolving all of your triggers can be quite a challenge for intermediate players, but be especially careful to time your kicks properly lest you get completely blown out by a single disruption effect. The sideboard is stacked with interesting options that I've just dumped together for your perusal. I prefer Jace, Mirror Mage over Coralhelm Chronicler because Jace is a kicker card himself, but the chronicler can be preferable to quickly loot for the exact cards you need, especially if board-based opponents keep wiping Jace. Skyclave Relic isn't really necessary because this deck includes plenty of ramping and discounting effects but it's still a strong card if you want to leap into high-mana ranges while keeping open mana for a teched-in Miscast or Syncopate.
