most creatures on their own are decent threats, and those that arent still generally need to be eliminated due to the bonuses they provide. banefire and oblivion ring are unusual sideboard choices, but i ran into problems against malakir bloodwitch (only thing in the main deck that can shoot it down is a kicked burst lightning), and as for the o-ring - non-red black permanents hurting me, such as luminarch control decks. i find that knight of new alara is vastly underrated - whilst depending on other creatures to actually be useful, it gives every other multicolored creature at least +2 +2 - and when youre talking about bloodbraids coming out as strong as a wooly thoctar (before oran-riefing or exalted), thats quite impressive.
