DESCRIPTION

this is what im taking to standard night at my lgs. my meta involves naya blitz, human aggro, jund and naya midrange and no pure control. ive only played here once though and it might all change next week. this is a heavily modified version of the list i built before the last pro-tour but heavily informed since via conley woods rogue aggro decimator. sideboard: aggro -2 desecration demon -1 griselbrand +3 human frailty i know rakdoss return appears bad in this matchup, but if you can stall the game long enough against aggro (actually very likely after match one) a well placed crypt ghast and rakdoss return will take you over the top. its less clunky than it seems in my experience vs. aggro. control -4 gloom surgeon -4 tragic slip -2 victim of night -1 swamp -1 ghost quarter +2 pithing needle +3 duress +3 slaughter games +1 rakdoss return +1 increasing ambition +2 dragonskull summit this decks who gameplan radically shifts by 10(12) cards after game one. game one probably you lose vs pure control. this half of the deck is very experimental because the meta is lacking pure control builds but these cards all feature heavily vs. varying midrange builds after game one. midrange see above. pithing needle is an allstar vs. planeswalkers, kessig wolfrun, and various other threats. sometimes i think this might need to go mainboard in my meta because of ubiquitous walkers. ghost quarter is an incredible card right now as well, but makes this manabase slightly less consistent although i have rarely died to mana problems. thalia is a potent sideboard weapon vs my deck but looks less frightening after game one thanks to my metas all star hate card, human frailty! any thoughts?
