DESCRIPTION
this deck has worked very well for me, so i thought i would post it here and see what you all thought of my version of uw control. the format is really heavy in creature hate, and i felt creating a deck without a single creature will leave many dead cards in your opponents hands. i will go over some of the main cards and explain why i use each.
i play one elspeth, as she is an alternate win condition and she can make the man lands bigger, and apply pressure with early threats. i originally played jace beleren because i did not want to shell out one hundred dollars for two mind sculptors. i borrowed two, and realized why the card is a fifty dollar card. it changes the game. and if your opponent gets a creature in there, it is another answer. nuff said.
cancel is cancel. i wish it was counterspell, because that one mana more makes it a little late some of the time, but is still a hard counter. hindering light is the real all-star. it saves your planeswalkers from maelstroms pulse, lightning bolt, and your man lands from terminate and pulse.
day of judgment. easily the mvp of this deck.
martial coup is a win condition and a wrath effect. conquerors pledge is a win condition. your goal is pretty much to gain board control and then swarm with tokens.
spreading seas. this card might be the only reason this deck does as well as it does for me. i have found that if i am on the play, and can spreading seas their first land, then i am far and away ahead in the game. this usually gives me an additional turn to get the mana for a cancel or one mana closer to a planeswalker etc.
something fun you can do with this deck. time warp turn five into a turn six concquerors pledge is about as fun as it gets.
