goal here is to ramp up to a turn 4 rakdoss return, where x=3. cheaper removal to pick up whats left then drop an olivia swagtusk hunt. may want to try and fit the 3rd rakdoss main, its never a bad draw but i can see you not wanting to draw multiples. the maindeck cut for the 3rd rakdoss return is garruk, primal hunter. just swap to 2 in the board. 3 dreadbore seems like the right amount, i wouldnt play less - sure its sorcery speed but it kills most anything with ease. dont bother with those ***** nighthawks, strangleroot, or wolfir avenger, just play the gas spells. i know some will say nighthawk geist is great with kessig blah blah blah... heres a short list why they suck............ 1. too small, not enough impact 2. too situational 3. too much mana that you should be using on other things 4. not always 2f1 (sometimes you can get 2f1 on a geist) 5. takes you away from the quick rakdoss plan if you feel tempted to play this over keyrune or farseek ................................................................................................. if you have to use one of them, base it on your local meta. if you have a lot of control then avenger over nighthawk. if you see a lot of creature strats or reanimator nighthawk over avenger. im simply not a fan of geist in this deck in any number, hes a baby and everyone plays pillar x4 .................................................................................................... other mainboard considerations: searing spear or abrupt decay - same idea, spear has more reach late game, dealing face damage and or killing kogs, sublimes, swagtusks, opposing olivias. note that decay is better vs smiter, detention sphere, unactivated keyrunes, other random stuff ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... sb: garruk, primal hunter - control and decks with minimal flyers. liliana of the veil - geist and control decks rakdoss return - control rolling temblor - humans and swap the mortars for this against geist sever the bloodline - zombies, midrange decks, entreat decks slaughter games - swagtusk and other midrange + (mirror), reanimator (angels). dont be foolish and put this in vs. entreat, if your opponent isnt an idiot hes taken them out. underworld connections - control, combos very nicely with liliana thundermaw hellkite - anything with lingering souls or other spirit tokens. I can see an argument made for this to come in vs control ............................................................................................................................................................................................................ other sideboard considerations (in order of value) - ultimate price, deathrite shaman, appetite for brains, zealous conscripts, duress, charms, silklash spider which I am becoming a fan of with the many Sigardas flying around my store. the obvious swap is Hellkite
