DESCRIPTION
The Scarab God takes center stage in this build, which is why there are 4 in the deck. My goal is to play mostly like a typical control build until The Scarab God enters the field. Then, I either reanimate my opponent's graveyard or my own. It's not the only strategy to winning, as a combo of just my flying creatures and Torment of Hailfire can win the game. Torment of Hailfire can honestly finish the fight in this build if I mainly play straight control and the game goes that long. Earlier on, it's nice to force a few cards into the graveyard or inflict some damage before I start swinging with 4/4s later. The overall synergy seems fantastic from my testing. So far the only tournament-ready Standard deck I've really tested it against is a variation of the current Red Deck Wins. It's doing its job quite nicely with more wins than losses. I'll have to keep playing it to really know if it's the real deal though, especially since neither I nor the person I am playing against are Magic pros. We're more like excited enthusiasts. I've also played it against a solid The Locust God build as well, which is where things like Bontu's Last Reckoning can really come in handy. I welcome any thoughts or suggestions, as I am still very new to the game.
