DESCRIPTION
A monoblue standard mill deck that is quick, robust and oddly consistent.
It is quick in that, provided a good curve was drawn on opening hand, at turn 1 two-to-four cards can be milled from opponent library. Turn 2, with Drowned Secrets, provides a mill engine with every blue spell cast leading four-to-six cards milled. Additional Drowned Secrets just adds 2 more milled cards per blue spell cast. Merfolk Secretkeeper, Overwhelmed Apprentice and Wall of Lost Thoughts provide not only a mill source in conjunction with Drowned Secrets, but add a buffer from combat damage. The deck is robust in that it also employs other creatures such as Sage's Row Denizen, Cloudkin Seer, Murmuring Mystic, Dungeon Geists and Spark Double to help hold the line against an opponent deck going wide. The deck is consistent despite some of the more unconventional choices on the list.
The deck is definitely malleable, but whatever your personal touch the deck is strangely enjoyable!
Before anyone comments about the contradiction between monoblue and Dimir color scheme on the label please note that the judgement of calling this deck monoblue is based on the 'all-island' land base rather than the color scheme of the non-land cards. Ashiok, Dream Render with its hybrid blue/black colors is automatically viewed as Dimir by the computer.
