Koth of the Pure Flame

i have mainly playtested this against my argentum airlines deck (what you people call ww argentum, etc.), because that seems to be one of its top rivals due to the kor firewalkers. its actually been pretty dead even and i have yet to test it against control. as for ramp i built an eldrazi beats rendition and this deck creamed it in 5 matches somehow. the one card that seems to not work so well is in fact quest for the pure flame... im looking for a better alternative and would rather not try pyromancers ascension without splashing blue and nerfing koth. oh, and also i only have 1 arid mesa and 3 scalding tarns, and unless rdw really sees redemption in standard i have no intent on getting anymore, especially with zendikars standard clock starting to tick.
