i have been playing the original eldrazi deck for a while now and i do alright with it but its lack of removal has been putting a damper on my games sometimes. windstorms really were not enough as it only took care of vampires and baneslayers.
so i sat down and thought a bit of how i could add some advantage and this is what i have come up with and ill explain somethings in here.
first id like to explain the 8 fetches. allot of my games when i really need a card i end up drawing lands with the original 20 forest and 4 vastwoods, so i decided to put in the four fetches to start thinning the deck out for more playable cards. durring this time i thought about the jund deck due to me having to take the verdant catacombs from it and decided to add in 4 swamps and the maelstrom to this deck for good removal. then i sided the doom blades for extra removal for any deck that wasnt jund or vamps and ran no black.
i thought that this could help improve the eldrazi deck to sneak past some of those harder enemys that stall it making you sit in defensive mode.
as for the rootbounds in the main deck with only 2 red cards which are sided the reason behind this is because i didnt wanna take up a slot in the side board for 3 cards of lands and since they also produce green mana and figured id have forest out in play this would not be a issue (plus it throws players off thinking i play red as well) what the two red cards are mainly for is turbo fog decks, i had a lot of trouble with an encounter to a jacerator deck and was trying to think of a way to counter it, orginialy i planed for 2 liches mirrors but then decided that the unstable footing and banefire could be used against other decks as well with prevention and counters and the liches miorrors would only work for that one matchup.
i plan to test this deck for the next few weeks and work on tweaking and such and see how this goes. please tell me what you think and any suggestions would also be appreciated.
