DESCRIPTION

This is a very competitve Meren list that can do a number of things quite well. It can combo off early with the Necrotic Ooze combo (Nooze on the battlefield with Phyrexian Devourer and Triskelion in the yard). Trike and Mike is also a very viable win-con through Victimize or Tooth and Nail. It can also play a grindy midrange game spamming Fleshbags or Merciless Executioner for value - Meren can probably out-midrange just about any deck in Edh. Finally, there is a brutal lockdown that Meren is tailor made to utilize, and that is through Contamination. With Meren's ability to recur creatures at the end step, Contamination creates a virtual lockdown of the table while you should still be able to produce green mana through the many mana dorks this list plays along with cards like Chrome Mox, Carpet of Flowers and Frontier Siege. The deck is pretty tuned with the exception of the ridiculously priced tutors (Imperial Seal, Grim Tutor). I currently do not own these cards so I have replaced them with Dimir Machinations (which can grab Contamination, Buried Alive, Liliana, Fleshbag, Witness, Necro etc.) and Shred Memory (which can grab Survival of the Fittest, Animate Dead, Abrupt Decay, Priest of Titania, Tribe Elder etc.) These tutors have been quite efficient, with Shred Memory even having some much needed utility in the form of instant speed grave-hate. I have enjoyed the Transmute tutors so much I have added Dimir House Guard to the list, which can grab Frontier Siege, Birthing Pod, Pattern of Rebirth, Jarad's Orders while also acting as a sac-outlet in a pinch. From what I have learned about Sidisi in a tuned Meren list is that tutors that are attached to creatures that can be recurred are fantastic.
