Lonis, Cryptozoologist | EDH $100 Budget Deck Tech | Commander | MH2 | Tokens

On BudgetEDH we build fun and optimized commander decks with a pre-set budget in mind. In this week's episode, we build a $100 budget Lonis, Cryptozoologist deck from the Magic the Gathering new set Modern Horizons 2. Lonis is a Legendary Snake Elf that has the ability to investigate (generate clue tokens) when creatures enter the battlefield under your control. It also has the powerful ability of cashing in those clue tokens to look at the top of your opponent's deck and put a permanent onto the battlefield under your control equal to the casting cost of the clues sacrificed. This is a very powerful ability, allowing us to play the best cards out of our opponent's decks. This deck leans heavily into creatures that have enter the battlefield abilities to accrue additional advantage through playing creatures, as well as having ways to double up those triggers and ways to doubling Lonis's activated ability as well. In addition, we have a lot of ways to use the clue tokens that we generated for additional value over the course of the game to get use some redundancy in our gameplan.
