Discard damage

the strategy i use for this deck is to make your opponent discard their hand as fast as possible. use kill cards to take care of any or large creatures. when your opponent has little or no cards in their hand play any creatures, recoils, and stack enchantments. then use draw discard cards to hit them with non-combat damage and let the abyssal nocturnus hit them with fear. liliana also helps with her -2 which i usually choose ponder or lilianas caress. jaces archivest is great for when your opponent has zero cards in their hand. as soon as your opponent draws and is about to play a non-land or a non-instant card tap jaces archivest to make them discard. if you can manage to have one lilianas caress(or megrim) with an abyssal nocturnus on the battlefield and play a wistful thinking you can hit for 8 non-combat damage and 10 fear damage.
